Whose Voice Is Running the Show in Your Head?

Can we talk about the crowded party happening in our heads?

I don’t mean the multiple personality kind (though honestly, some of my inner voices have *fantastic* ideas). I’m talking about all those other people’s voices that somehow moved in rent-free and started redecorating.

You know the ones … your art teacher telling you what “real” art looks like, your boss’s voice dictating how you should handle every situation, your mother’s opinions about literally everything. It’s like having a bunch of uninvited houseguests who never leave and keep rearranging your mental furniture.

When I finished art school, I couldn’t paint a damn thing without hearing my instructors’ voices telling me what was “right” and what was “finished.” The same thing happened after my teacher training …I felt like I was wearing someone else’s ill-fitting clothes every time I stepped into a classroom.

It wasn’t until I told those voices to pack their shit and move out that I found my own rhythm again.

Here’s the thing, beautiful… I absolutely love and respect every mentor, teacher, and coach who’s shared their wisdom with me. They brought magic into my life in ways I’m forever grateful for.

But at the end of the day, the only voice that gets to run this show is “mine”. And the only voice that gets to run your show should be “yours”.

The problem is, quieting all that external chatter so you can hear your own wisdom? That’s not easy...it takes practice, patience, and some seriously good tools.

But here’s what I know for sure – you don’t need another guru. You don’t need someone else’s system or someone else’s way of being. You just need *you*, plus some sassy but gentle guidance to help you remember who that is.

Your inner voice is the only GPS you need for this life. Everyone else’s directions are just suggestions.

Time to turn up your own volume, love.
