As a high school art teacher-turned-boutique-owner, I am not just bringing inventory into my store, I create it, curate it, study it, and bond with it. I try to know everything about each piece.
I would characterize my merchandise as eclectic, creative, soulful...new and reloved pieces.... “something old, something new, something fun, something for you!”
I am so “exposed” in this shop, the walls, paintings, name “Primal Soul”...everything resonates with me...bares part of who I am.
It’s a circle of fulfillment... the store brings me joy, and I want to pass it on to my customers.
The doors opened Nov.7, and I haven’t yet implemented even all of my plans, such as women’s circles, gift registries, personal shopping appointments, and shopping parties... any and all with the option of being combined with yoga, Reiki, and other workshops.
Primal Soul is meant to be a place for the amazing women of the Nanton area, a celebration and recognition of how local women improve our community.
But much is already here, including the “men’s chairs” near the dressing rooms so guys can relax while they wait.
“I want everyone to feel comfortable here... to find something here.”
I love my spot, and waited years for it...a Mainstreet Nanton fixture old-timers can remember as a grocery store.
I’m trying to do something different here.
The idea for this place has been in my heart for a long time. I want people to feel welcomed, rejuvenated, joyful here.
